On Sunday 14/6/20  i sent my birds along with the Solway federation to Appleby around 35 miles something like that ; they did okay and got them all back ; which makes a change for me ‘ so was pleased ; Miranda de Jong of Belgium sent me an e-mail about how they are coping with the virus and the racing ; as they are having mixed racing ; young and old birds together ; She was saying one of her young widowhood cocks was first back from there race ; may well have done well;  I will get result for our column latter ; and once again top flyer Dave Lofthouse was at the front in the Copeland NWAP race from Penkridge on the 14/6/20 so well done Dave. also chatting with old friend John Turner of Turner & Calder of near Belfast and once again they are in the top end of the result flying really well so everyone at the moment are doing okay ‘ the training race for Fellside members next week is from Stainmoor along with the Solway federation. also while chatting with Eddy Gilmore from a distance at Springfield Gretna he was telling me about a pigeon called Gillie lass which has scored 3 times in the section for his relative John Gilmore from across the channel ; Eddy came to Gretna that day to pick up a pigeon from me ; which I had caught in some ones back yard in Dentonhome  Carlisle‘ I duly made arrangements with the owner by name Mike Carruthers Eddy being a friend of Mikes came and collected the pigeon for him the Gilmore family have  down the years been successful at national events especially Gold cup races ‘ it is hoped I might be able to obtain a few pictures of their national winning pigeons for this column well it is 16/6/20 and the shops are starting to open; as the lockdown begins to ease; Me and the misses went for a run to the lakes here in Cumbria; you can park up on road side parking area’s when its Quiet and walk down to one of the many lakes there is beside the town of Keswick; it was a lovely day un all stunningly beautiful this time of the year; we had brought a cup of tea in flask and a few sandwiches hardly anyone else being a week day around; we visited Hays garden centre which is not too far away from Carlisle ; they have a large garden section there as well so we had enjoyed at last a day out?
